Mamedyarov [Biography and best games]

Mamedyarov is an Azerbaijani grandmaster. His full name is Shakhriyar Hamid oglu Mammadyarov. If its hard to pronounce you can say Mamedyarov. He was born in 12th April 1985 in Sumgait. He achieved grandmaster title in 2002. His peak rating was 2820 in September 2018. 

Mamedyarov is knows for his aggressive style of openings. He is the only player who won junior chess championship twice (2003,2005).

In 2006 he was invited at four-player Essent Tournament where he crushed Judit Polgar and Veselin Topalov.In 2012 Olympiad he finished best performance rating of any player. He also won shamkir chess super tournament and ranked 2nd highest rating.

Mamedyarov’s Protest

In Aeroflot Open tournament (Moscow Feb 2009). He got crushed by lower rated player Igor Kurnosov in just 21 moves. He asked  administration of the tournament to check Igor for cheating because he went outside after every move, the other fact is that Igor also declined his draw offer at move 14th. But nothing was found in Igor Kurnosov. Therefore Mamedyarov  withdrawn from the tournament in protest.
