Aron Nimzowitsch’s Biography
He was born on 7th November 1886 in Riga which was the part of the Russian Tsarist Empire. In the mid of 1920 Nimzowitsch become influential chess player. And he was one of the top 5 players in the world. Although he was a strong player but he never got a chance to become world champion. He died in Denmark on March 16th, 1935 at the age of 48.
Nimzowitsch’s Contribution in Chess
Because there was only 2 choices at that time to begin game with one is to play e4 and other is d4.
- Nimzowitsch was one of the chess players who promoted the idea (Center can be controlled from long distance such as 1.Nf3 controls two main squares in the center). He wrote this idea into Nimzowitsch’s My System and Chess Praxis.
- Nimzo-Indian Defence, respected choice against d4 at GM level. (Don’t worry every one can learn and play this defense).
